Love 365: Day Eight - Fifteen

I love the way I look in jeans.

I love being sort've a book nerd. I probably don't read as much as some people do, but definitely more than most.

I love the way I'm good with animals.

I love that I'm pretty easy to live with. I've never had too much trouble getting along with roommates or being domestic with my boyfriend. Except for how I don't like doing dishes. No dishes.

I love that I'm good at baking. I even do it when I'm bored.

I love how my taste in clothing is evolving. It will probably take a long time before I really have my dream wardrobe, but it's exciting to think about my sense of style in a new way. It's kind've incredible to look at old photographs and see how I differently I used to dress.

I love my eyes.

I love being biracial.

Today I think I like walking in heels. I'm not the most graceful person, but when I'm marching down a sidewalk in heels, I feel like I can take on everything.

I love the way I speak. I tend talk like an eighty year old woman with a foul mouth, and my strings of profanity are often mixed with expressions from the 1930's. "Good gracious, what is this fuckery? Dadgum shitty fiddlestickin' douchehammer." I used to try to speak 'normally', but I quickly realized it was an integral part of who I was, a part I couldn't, and shouldn't get rid of. Our words represent us, and if my words are 'gee golly fucktard', then so be it.

I love that I'm really on top of my life, much more so than many of my peers. At a mere 21 I'm graduating from undergrad, have been accepted to a great law school for a career I know I'll love, and am getting married and moving several states over. I know a lot of people my age end up bumbling around and if you need to bumble for a little while to figure life out, that's cool too. Personally, I love the feeling of security that I get from knowing exactly where I'm going and how I'm going to get there, and that it originated from my own very hard work over these past few years. The next time people joke that I'm 21 going on 45, I'll proudly know it's true.

I love..that I consciously make an effort to be a good person even when things get tough.

I love that I am positive and on top of the world after a few more down-in-the-dumps-hours. I love that I want to get through it. Even if it's just one day at a time.

I'm CreAtivE! I get the craziest and best ideas, both for fun silly things, and for making the world a better place with creative solutions. I have a super amazing and interesting right side of my brain and it completely rules my life {thankfully!}. And just as a little example, I got my friends to dress up with me as the Beastie Boys from the Sabotage music video for Bay to Breakers (www.baytobreakers.com). We stood next to real cops very seriously and everyone loved us. Thanks My Brain for the good idea!

I love that I'm so good with the disabled kids I work with. I love that I know how to talk to them and how to make them laugh and how to be their friend.

I love my thirst for knowledge. At school I was always called a nerd or boffin and since then a freak or a wierdo because I love to learn. I have a wide range of interests and doing research and talking to knowledgeable people in these various fields interests me very much. This year when I registered for my honours year and got all my paper early and started gettig to work I got some really weird looks and comments from people but I don't care. Learning is something I love and am proud of my ability to converse wisely and authentically on a number of subjects that other people don't always know a lot about. I embrace my slight oddity :)

For me? Physically speaking..I love my eyes and my cheekbones. On the inside...I love that I recognize my faults and try to be a better person.
