Love 365: Day Twenty-Three - Twenty-Nine

I love that I'm 21 and I still don't match my socks. I think that started sometime in middle school, and I've never grown out of it.

I love that I'm trying to eat healthier and exercise more.

I love that I don't mind going to the gym.

I love my thick eyebrows.

I love my big nose. I used to really hate it, but now I wouldn't change it for anything. If I were to be really corny, I'd say it has character.

I love that I'm getting better at writing every single day. (Which reminds me as I type this post to apologize for the hardly-any-posting that went on this week. I'm hoping to finish up some posts I started and provide you guys with much more content next week :) )

I love that, even though I get nervous, I'm getting better at interviewing and talking to strangers. I had to interview a friend today for a paper and I was very anxious about asking her questions, but I really surprised myself with how well I handled the interview. I didn't let nerves get the best of me, which is a real challenge.

I love that my eyes are blue and my hair blond. It sounds so average and boring. Like say "you're a blond so your eyes must be blue". I hate that. But I think I kinda love it too. I really like my eye color. It's not an icy-blue hue, but it's mine.

I love my hair. The fact that it's so so so so, oh hell, so so T-H-I-C-K.

Whenever I have a bad day or I find myself a tiny bit unhappy, I rush to the hairdresser. Any hairdresser. Strange how a new look can make you feel like a star. I don't like that I do that, and love that I've promised myself not have anything done to my hair for 90 days. 87 days to go . . .

No perms to cheer me up. No highlights or color. And most certainly no trims. I have been taking my hair for granted.

As I had the perm removed three days ago, I was told that due to the thickness of my hair, I'd either have to grow it really long or cut it really short. I've had enough of the pixie-look . . . I've decided to give my hair some love by letting it be for a while. Here's the win-win situation. I'm giving my nails some much desired love too. I found a different (and much cheaper) fix. I'll be making sure my nails are always painted. Whichever way I feel, I'll just change the color to match the mood.

Did I mention I love my nails?

Rachel and Megan: I think I've only seen a couple of people my age who don't match their socks, so your comments made me smile. I think part of my reason originally was that I just hated bothering to find pairs. My mother hates it, and whenever she buys me socks now she'll buy sets that will compliment each other (like a brown pair and a pair of brown with white polka dots, for instance).

I feel the same way about my nose. When I was younger I used to stare at it for what seems like forever as I would dream of the day when I could afford a nose job. Now, I wouldn't dream of touching it.

Also I have one blue sock on and one white one with argyle bottoms. I try to match but some days I just can't care.
