You Shouldn't Have! In Which I Have Fun With Blog Awards

It's a warm sunny day over here in Massachusetts! Thus far I've spent it in the library with my boyfriend, working on final assignments and such. I commented a few blogs, but then Luke so kindly reminded me that I have two articles due today and should probably work on that instead. Well then. He has a point. I think after today, though, I should have a lot more free time to read your blogs, comment, and write here, so hooray for that! I'm ready for the summer.

Anywho, I figured this would be as good a time as any to give a shout-out to some of you beautiful ladies with a blog award, as well as participate in a lovely meme I was tagged for. So without further ado...

The gorgeous Stephanie of Bows, Buttons & Brogues gave me the Sunshine Award-- THANK YOU!-- and here's the deal:

Rules:
1. Post the logo on my blog.
2. Pass the award on to 12 other bloggers.
3. Link the nominees' blogs so others can get to know them.
4. Let nominees know they have won this award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to the person you received this award from.

I've decided I'd like to share with...

Kelly
Jem
Luinae
Superalzy
Sydnie
Mary

I chose a lot of blogs I'm new to for this, because I'm so constantly amazed by how great the people who read my blog are. Even if I haven't tagged you here, I do try to visit everyone who comments and I've yet to find one of you who doesn't leave me with something inspiring. You guys rock!

And then, the lovely awesome Zmaga asked me to participate in the "Love Tag," in which I'm supposed to weigh in with a paragraph or so about what love is to me and to tag three other bloggers to carry on from here.

I'd like to hear what *eLLa*, Jessica of Saturday Jane, and Laura of Ruby Bastille have to say.

[EDIT: I totally spaced out and messed up LAURA's name the first time sorryIloseatlifegah]

For me, I always think of something my best friend once said when I think about what love is: that you like people for all the things that make them wonderful, but you love them for their flaws. Finally being in a long-term, (fingers crossed) hopefully permanent relationship, I realize how true that really is. My boyfriend drives me up a wall sometimes, but I think if everything were perfect, if he never made me a little crazy, he'd be a pretty boring person to be around. I love the way he doesn't always say or do the right thing, but sometimes I need that as a reality check. And I know sometimes I annoy him, but knowing I have someone who finally wants to be here for me, quirks and all, is far more comforting than it would be if he thought I was without flaw.

And I think love is calling when a person says they don't want to talk but you know better than that. And it's putting notes in secret places for later. It's letting a girl get mascara stains on your good T-shirt because being her shoulder to cry on is worth more to you than the twenty dollars you spent on it. It's doing nothing together. It's having your own secret language that you can use from across the room. It's going to that he loves even though it's the thing you hate. It's not always having to say it before bed because you both know without needing the words. It's saying the words anyway because they feel so right as they exit your mouth.

While I did tag three people, I'd like to hear from all of you, whether on your blog or in the comments here.

So tell me: what is love?

Oh hey, awesome, thank you! That'll actually force me to plot something out rather than slapping some pictures up. :) It's a good topic too, especially with um a wedding coming up. So thanks again!

(on a completely unrelated note, it's Laura. :) Don't worry, it happens ALL the time!)

Love is: the difficult realisation that someone else matters to you more than you do. It is giving everything and expecting nothing in return. It is having someone to share all your ups and downs with. It is having someone to eat your culinary mistakes with!

Love is never being able to see yourself without them.
