Three Things You Are Not*

Sometimes life comes at us hard. We've all had those days where we feel terrible about ourselves and the situations we're in seem hopeless. Oftentimes, we blame our own shortcomings for far too many things. When you're feeling down, being negative won't help.

Remember:

You are not stupid. We all make bad decisions, say the wrong things, miss appointments, and otherwise mess up sometimes. And every single one of us will encounter plenty of people truly smarter than ourselves: take it as an opportunity to learn.

You are not unworthy of the things you want. Just because it hasn't happened yet-- even though you've worked so hard-- doesn't mean it won't or that you don't deserve it. Your goals are attainable.

You are not a human punching bag. Don't let others take out their frustrations on you and don't beat yourself up. There are plenty of people out there who, for whatever reason, will try to take you down to bring themselves up, but you don't have to let that get to you. No one deserves to endure anyone's misplaced aggressions, so stand up for yourself, whether it be by cutting ties with a negative person, having a dialogue, or just learning better how to cope with nasty people if you really can't avoid the situation.

What three things do you think we should stop telling ourselves? What internal monologues need to go? What do you do to keep positive?
