Results May Vary: Holiday Edition

*As we approach the new year, be sure to take a look at the decade in news photographs. What can we learn from the past ten years?

*Check out Eclectic Eccentricity Jewelry-- you're sure to find something you'd like to use that gift certificate on.

*In the 1930s, fashion designers imagined us wearing some pretty wacky things. They kinda got it right from :55-:57, though.

*It's Christmas Present Week at Natalie Dee! God, I love that woman....

*Make hot chocolate on a stick for your sweet-toothed friends. Oh man, these look so yummy.

*Sarah Von at Yes and Yes wants you to give the gift of non-stuff this holiday season. I totally agree. I'm so overwhelmed by things cluttering up my living space.

*Can I suggest a really easy and cool non-stuff gift? Plant with Purpose uses planting new trees as a way to help the environment and help rural families out of poverty. By providing trees, lands are enriched for agriculture and farmers can start producing better crops. By producing better crops, there's a greater chance they'll have surpluses to sell in town. You see where this is going. So if you want to help people and the environment, donate a wee bit of cash over at the site: $1 gets you one tree, $10 gets you an orchard, and so on, and so on. I don't need to explain because you're totally going to check it out. :)

*A. and E. present a wonderful guide to dressing for holiday parties this winter. Don't they look great?

*Sam Hart does a holiday version of Keri Hilson's "Knocks You Down." Wicked cute, and his voice rocks.

*Interesting Times article on Obama's first year policies. I agree that it's a little too early to judge when there's so much that needs to be done.

*Ulrika of The Freelancer's Fashion Blog has some advice on dressing warm and stylish when the temperature drops.

*Start making up your list of resolutions for the new year. Some suggestions? Go to more poetry readings, adopt an older animal from the pound, write one positive thing about yourself every day of the year, bake goodies for your neighbors, or give $20 a month to a charity you care about.

The suggestion about writing one positive thing about yourself everyday is an amazing idea. Something that I think I should really start doing,I tend to be a negative and hard on myself.
